Teson Proposal 1
ON A CHAIR OVER A CHECKERED RUG
In a world where everything is agitation and chores, boredom is becoming increasingly necessary.
T’is in the void that the mind seeks new ideas and concepts. The setting seems perfect for the occurrence of nothing, thus, in this context of emptiness, is where everything eventually emerges.
Dr. Luísa V. Lopes, neuroscientist, wrote: ”In this exhibition, the checkered carpet is more than just floor: it is metaphor. A stage where empty chairs await bodies and stories. To sit is to allow the pause. It is in the space between one square and the next that the visitor encounters themselves, as if rediscovering an old notebook or a forgotten desire.”

They could be moments of introspection or reflection, moments of pause, wandering thoughts, or simply instances of dolce far niente.
They could be all of these things—or merely a moment of boredom in which, “on a chair atop a checkered rug,” anything can happen. Great ideas may emerge, solutions to problems that had seemed unsolvable until then may suddenly appear, or it may simply be a pause: a chance to contemplate, unhurriedly, with time on one’s side.

Proposal 2.1
HOW FLEXIBLE ARE PEOPLE IN LIFE?
These paintings have not been exhibited before. Since you gave me the opportunity to change the exhibition midway through the season, I wanted to present something entirely new with you.
I have not yet written the accompanying text for this series, which, in keeping with the Biennale theme “In Minor Keys,” reflects on how flexible and adaptable we are in life.
The black and white stripes are intended to refer the viewer to the popular saying—and an important life metaphor—about finding the right path through crooked lines.
Which painting do you prefer?
Both have the same dimensions (100 × 120 cm), but one is in a horizontal format and the other in a vertical format.
